Stan even wrote a whole entire chapter on my favorite charcter, Spider-Man. That is my personal taste showing through, however, and I do acknowledge there are people out there who may prefer this style. Carter (2007) identifies three ways that students can view graphic novels: cross curricular, as complimentary to traditional classroom text, and using contact zone theory to examine social issues. The story is dark and twisted and the art is clear and envocative, working much like camera work to add to the drama of the story.
